so I put some wheel tape on my bandit today. it looks great from a distance (where you cant tell how badly I've done it)

that got me thinking about how much it would cost me to do things "properly" and get the wheels polished.

anyone had it done?if so, how much did you pay?

cheers

And there was me thinking the white wheels on my old SRAD were high maintenance!

Polished rims would be enough to give a man OCD! I'd be forever seeing smudges and getting annoyed!

Still, if you don't mind putting in the effort then Cool

If you ride all year, it's a definite NO NO! Polished rims take time to look after if you DO have the correct tools, let alone if you DON'T! Had them on my 250 and after a whole wet winter riding, it seemed to have buggered it up!

the tape looks great but I cant get it perfect.

and theres a groove in the rear rim so the tape doesnt sit properly

Don't do it!!

It's very very painful to keep on top of them if you do a lot of riding. Luckily mine came with polished rims so I didn't have to pay with cash or effort for the lesson learnt but as nice as it looks it's just too much hassle.

What I wouldn't do for some plain black coloured wheels Praying

I had that problem doing mine the first time coz i used the tape on a roll but i bought the pre-cut sections last week and they`re much easier to get on....the tape falls into place on its own coz it`s already curved to fit.
Get some....and start again.

Doesn't bother me that much. I just leave them dirty to hide the horrible milking look.
