Ok lets assume I decide not to change the GS for something sporty but instead, decide to get more power from the GS itself.

It has a MOTAD Nexxus exhaust and I wondered about K&N and Dynojet kits for the extra Umph.

Here lies the problem - I can defo do the airfilters and pretty sure I can do the jets in time but I don't know what the fook I'm buying!

Do I get a Stage1,2 or 3? What is the difference? Will I need a specific jet size - how do I know which one? Can I do the filters and not the jets?

the K&N will increse the airflow making the fuel 2 air mixture weak and overheating your engine so ......Yes u do need to get it re-jetted to run propperly and its quite an artform ,
Probabley worth fitting all your performace parts in one go and getting it Profetonaly set up then u get the pice of mind Smile

not going blind, if you had intruction, or a setting up guide particular to the GS then it would be easy enough i guess, but i wouldnt guess at it

just got a PDF off www.dynojet.com that is specific to the GS but it still leaves it open at the end saying if it's lean do this, if it's rich do that - how do you know if it's rich or lean?

Also is it worth it in the long run, should i not just go for a better bike?

The GS Twin forum is the best place to ask for jetting advice

Remember you won't goet massive amounts of power from such things, it would probably give you the 'edge' over another gs, but not muich more than that.

To do the job properly means setting the bike up on a dyno with an exhaust gas analyser to tell you exactly how rich / lean the mixture is at those revs / throttle position / load

All the best
