Firstly I've allready stated that I'm interested in unleashing my horses in the best way possible, so is this genuine? https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250250524881&_trksid=p3907.m32&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching
Reply quick! Shocked Wink
Now as for the question, which relates to these:
https://www.inter-bike.co.uk/inter-bikeshop/admin/images/accessories/anbarendcr.jpg
...Ahem Shifty ... How do I fit them? Embarassed

I've had to use a clasp-grip tool thingy to hold the sleeves whilst I tightened the allen key and then I hammered them in, there in but not tight enough and will move/ vibrate out... What a headache. Binge! you know how these awful contraptions opperate Laughing

Hi

CDI unit might well fix the top speed restrictor and raise the rev limiter (which you might not want to be raised). However it is down to how well the timing curves in it are set up. Could be fine, could be a nightmare.

As to the 2nd, take out your old bar ends and put those ones in place. Tighten up the allen key and the inner part forces the outer part to expand to hold them in place.

All the best

Keith

Hi

As you tighten the allen key it pulls the inner part towards the allen key. Doing so it forces the outer sleive out, until the whole thing stays in place.

Some stock bar ends are held on the same way but using a rubber bung with a nut in the middle. Tightening a bolt in the nut squeezes the rubber out until it is held in place.

Be away that getting rid of the weights like this might well cause some vibration to be noticeable.

All the best

Keith

Thankyou Keith, I don't mean to be rude but I know how it's suppose to work, it's a very simple 'mechanism' but what I'm saying is that they're very fiddly to fit, they DON'T grip the inside at the moment so I can't tighten them properly.
Thankyou though, with regards to the CDI I know its a dumb question but do you think it'll suit my needs?
I'm after;
Arrow More power.
Arrow 135-140mph? Indicated top speed
Arrow Smoother running
In short I want my bike to perform to its best abilities...
Is that CDI unit suitable or would I be better off looking elsewhere?
Thanks again Thumbs Up

Tighten the up until they start to 'bite' before putting them in, this stops the system just spinning and not tightening when you use the Allan key.

Cheers
John

I wouldn't touch it personally. Can't you get a HRC CDI?

I wouldn't touch a chinese CDI from ebay with a 10 foot pole, but that's just me.

Hi

As above for the bar ends.

With the cdi it depends on how much you trust it. Could be fine. Could burn holes in the pistons when you next thrash it.

All the best

Keith

as for cdi...... the vfr rvf were never restricted via the cdi, some had a speedo restriction in the clocks. which is pennies to sort out.
a rev limiter is there for a reason. disabling that, is just dumb, by the time you hit it you are already past peak power and torque

the vfr was never cdi restricted except by the speedo
if you are getting to 120, then its fairly safe to say that your bike is not restricted.

Ride it off a cliff it may reach a velocity of 140mph (with you still on it) before it hits the ground. Wink

If you fit an MPH converter to the speedo that's enough to de-restrict it, since it's restricted by the clocks.
