This might be a really stupid question but how do you remove the large plug with a groove in it (i think it is called the pivot shaft) behind which are the cam followers. It has a small hole in it but I can't seem to get it out.
I need to remove the cam followers and put them in a new bore. Any help would be great.

Thanks

But the grove is far to shallow to be able to turn it. Or does it prise out?

If you use a really wide screwdriver it shouldn't be a problem.

And no... doesn't prise out.

Try it out with a screwdriver and see how you get on Thumbs Up

If it's the bit below the red outline (not my picture, just one I found) and it's supposed to unscrew, then maybe you could try a 50p and molegrips.

Hi
Yes a large washer will do it , i have one for when i checked the valves on my ybr, a spot on fit. Try a couple till you get the one that fits snug, mine came off without any effort really.

Yep got it out. I soaked it in WD40 overnight and used a big screwdriver to turn it. It did prise out though it is a plug with a rubber o ring on it. What holds it in place is the bolt that goes through it from above.

Thanks for all your help. Smile
