Cigarette lighter on bike?

Can I fit a cigarette lighter to my bike? I have access to a variety of them from all sorts of car models, and I'm prepared to pay up to £30ish if I need to.

The bike I want to attatch it to is a fzr600 genesis '91.

I'm not sure if the battery is 6 or 12 volt, will have a look once dressed.

I assume, it could be simple enough to link it straight off the battery, BUT this would lose power quickly with the engine turned off no? So there would have to be some kind of ignition switch?

The battery will be 12V.

I've fitted these to several bikes, the last one I bought from the local motorist's discount shop for a couple of quid, complete with waterproof cap.
Siting the unit is sometimes awkward, top of fairing panel on some bikes, on the 'bird, I've made a little aluminium bracket fastened to the bar clamp bolt.
Wired in to the battery with an inline fuse, no battery drain when socket is not in use
I usually use these sockets for the sat nav,but it would also come in for 'phone charger or even compressor if you should carry one.

HG do one for £12, if you want to make it work only when the engine is on , wire it up to the rear bulbs on a relay , but it shouldn't drain power if there is an incomplete circuit

Just fitted one in the 'boot' of the Fireblade for my Europe trip to charge phone and MP3 player etc.

Got all the bits from Maplin, a socket with rubber cap cover with screw bezel to fit into the upright plastic panel of the undertray, a 30A 4 pole normally open relay, some 25amp wire and leftover thin guage wire for the relay trigger, oh and a 15amp fuse holder (won't be pulling more than 15amps as the socket is only rated to 15amps). The whole lost cost about £6 I think.

Best way to do it is just to wire it to a relay which is hooked up to a switched 12v (a wire that comes live with the ignition). I used one of the 12v feeds to the fusebox as they're easy to locate and you don't need to go testing anything to check whats live as the main circuits are all only live when ignition is on (except fan on some bikes).

The socket won't use power unless it's got something plugged into it because otherwise it's not a complete circuit, only the relay will draw a very small amount of power. The only reason to use a relay is it prevents you leaving something running off the socket while your bike is turned off, otherwise hardwiring to the battery would be fine, but always use a fuse.

I bought One of these.
Sits nicely in my tank bag. Mainly used for sat nav, but as it is cig lighter can be used for anything with the right adaptors.
