 |

Hi folks
I have had a few monetary issues, and so won't be taking any sort of test for a while...
I have a CG125 right now, and while it's fine, I was wondering if there was anything else that was maybe a touch faster - especially uphill?
I'm looking more for constant power rather than flat out speed - if it could do 60 I would be happy.
My poor CG can't cope with going uphill even slightly, finds getting past 40 a struggle if the road isn't flat... oh yeah, and it hates wind too - I get a lot of that, so a faired bike would be useful.
Ideas, please? ____________________ Bike: CG125 - Theory: Passed 20th June...64/75 Hazard, 49/50 Theory... Test: Module 1 - 15/10/09.... Failed |

I would like a Varadero, but like you said, the cost would be prohibitive. I could sell my CG (06 model, 3500 miles OTC) but I doubt I'd get more than a grand for it, if I Was lucky - and I'm not rich enough to put the rest towards getting it lol.
Shame I won't be able to do any sort of test before October now - I dread to think how much it's gonna cost ____________________ Bike: CG125 - Theory: Passed 20th June...64/75 Hazard, 49/50 Theory... Test: Module 1 - 15/10/09.... Failed |

it depends on the size of the rider
My CG didnt enjoy head winds or hills at all, but i am 17 stone.
You could get a 2 stroke, that would give more but you pay in the way of more maintenence needed, which can add up if you dont DIY
The YZF125Rs are nice bikes and will go an indicated 85, but they are new out, and not cheap, so not really an option, and like you have said, varaderos are expensive as they are HUGE bikes ____________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My hyosung gt125 has been fine uphill, just remember to drop down a gear... it outdoes the cg i did my cbt on. I managed about 50 (indicated) on a fairly steep hill yesterday, and 72ish (indicated) on the flat - a new 2 wheeled land speed record for me
I guess the gtr125 would be just a touch faster in the wind because of the fairing. |
