5 days in france from Calais- where to go for best twisties?

Hi,

I'm heading Dover-Calais and spending 5 days in France in August.

I want to seek out the best twisties but dont want to spend long travelling to the area due to time shortage.

Would rather find somewhere not too far away so I get maximum time in the twisties.

Does anyone have any reccomended areas?

Supposed to be good roads in the hills around north of Le Mans area.

On the way back go to Boulogne and do the normal road all the way back to Calais. Great road.

If you could push it to 7 days you could do a nice route into the Alps and back, with good roads on the way. (apart from a day's motorway blast to bypass the North).

I'm sure there are some good roads in North Eastern France, but they are not plentiful.

As maurice said, the Alps is where it's at. Getting over to the other side of France doesn't take long, and the roads over there will be your reward. Laughing

Cochem makes a good base and the Nurbugring is nearby Twisted Evil

Agreed, probably the closest to Calais. Try the black forrest as well. Cochem is certainly a good base.

3rd'd. Sod France, get into Germany. I found the roads in Belgium to be pretty shite.

You have no idea, based on that post alone...I actually went there the next day...

Just get off the ferry and put in "No major routes"... If you start getting pushed for time then put major routes back on...
