Hi! So, I'm a new-ish biker, and ride a little moped. It's a Lexmoto Echo 50cc moped, and she's been perfect since I got her last Christmas.

However!

I recently had some issues starting her, so my dad and I had a look. It wasn't the carb, the fuel or the oil. We replaced the battery for a brand new one, still nothing. Eventually, it turned out to be an issue with the electric start, which we fixed.

So she starts, but she's now only traveling at low speed. I can sometimes get her up to 30mph, but most of the time, at full throttle, she's only making 10-20mph - and god forbid if she reaches a slight incline. Her speed drops drastically to around 10mph flat out, and I can't get her to speed up.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Tips on maintenance too, as I'm relatively new to the biking world and have litle to no clue about what I'm doing! Thanks again.

Are you 16.

If not, get a 125. A 50cc on the road is the worst thing ever.

Roller condition? How many miles you put on that bad boy?

Check to see if the throttle cable is operating as it should, in conjunction with the twist grip, especially as it appears you’ve had the carb off.

Have you checked the vacuum lines that operate the fuel tap, fuel filter, and breather?
If blocked or cracked it will not give enough fuel.

What did you do to things inside the primary transmission (where the rubber drive belt is)?

30 mph? Legally it isn't even designed to go that fast....
