Picked up this very sort after bike today for quite a good price considering its almost mint condion plus all the tarty bits it has, first thing to do is to replace the massive screen Shocked

55,000 KM german import, full service history and very well looked after.

As well as the bike coming stock with a 43 liter fuel tank/kickstart eletric combo/heated grips/bash plate, its been fitted with touratech skid plate/brush guards/rocker covers/foot pegs and a ohlins shock plus progress fork springs and a oversize front brake disc.

should make a good long distance tourer once l get some paniners Thumbs Up

The XR650R has been retired to green laneing as it was almost imposable to get hard luggage for it and road riding wise it was,nt that great, but the GS is good on road and has a offroad capability and will be used for a north Africa tour next year.

made an error on tank size its only 35 liters was thinking of the 41l touratech tank.

l get around 250-280 miles to a tank using 30 liters

Is that red line at 110mph, or does it go higher? About the same as my KTM.

Like the half-seat. Doing that on my KTM would definitely give more luggage capability as it can reasonably take a pillion, yet the panniers claim to only take 10kg each.

Redline is about 120mph, the bikes gearing is suited for low speed torque but l,ve got a spare gearbox that l,m fitting with a higher 5th gear so should be 130mph tops and cruise far better.

Luggage capactiy is the best thing about this bike, lots of space.

I've upgeared my KTM so it's geared for about 124mph I think.
It's fine for road and gentle or faster off road, but not going to be very good for technical off-road with that gearing. Really want to be able to give it a better range of ratios, but that's going to be difficult Sad.
I was surprised quite how much 82lt of space could fit in with my tarty boxes.
