Ok, I gather you are traffic police in surrey, near Boxhill in fact. Would you be able to enlighten us as to the situation as to Boxhill. Today it was crap there. Police everywhere, and they were threatening, dunno if they actually did, to put tickets on all bikes parked out the front on the pavement .
Add to that the sheer number of traffic cars, camera vans, police vans, and that gay fence that has been put up. I am right in thinking you are trying to stop boxhill becoming a meeting point? If so, why? Its only gonna start up somewhere else
Also, came across this on another message board, MCN Ninjas:
| Quote: |
went to boxhill today was told by a few people
that next week at boxhill the plod will be having
a major crackdown on the usual things , cans
number plates & dark fly catchers. spoke to a
friend in the know and he said it is true.
weather it happens or not YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
|
Again, any input on this?
This stuff really annoys me, cos who is being hurt by the bikes being parked on the pavement? Who is being hurt by the race cans sitting in the carpark? Ok, some of the numberplates do take the piss a little bit...
I await replies |

Newbie: public car parks are public road afaik, and they could always sit there and wait for you to go home
The pavement in question has a large area of grass between it and the road, which is where said bikes got moved to. So now the grass gets damaged instead. And there was room to walk past them, and only people walking around there were bikers and police.
And in Ride, its P95, issue 95:
| Quote: |
How police powers could kill bike meets and see officers seize your machine.
Under the new anti social behaviour laws the police can impound your bike if they feel you are behaving in a manner that is likely to "alarm, distress or cause annoyance".
£105 to get it back, plus £12 a day storage, failure to pay in 21 days and they sell it at auction ( I think I heard that it is £350 for a car as this was originally aimed at the car cruises)
The police officer is the one to judge you on the spot, and although it says that they are meant to give you a warning first, there is a clause whereby they do not have to give this warning if it is impracticable (such as if you ride by before they can stop you and have to chase you)
| Got that from someone on visordown, so its probably not word for word as the mag |

dont get me wrong folks, i do like my race can
but im well aware its illegal, as are 99% of people who use them. so if you get a ticket for it...."deal with it" you knew your can was illegal....you got caught end of, there could be 400 police officers walking through bh car park, but if your bikes perfectly legal....theres not a damn thing they can do about you being there.
im personally not that worried about bh....there plenty other places to go, but if i wanted to go that badly...i would put my standard can back on, and then sit there happily knowing that pc plod couldnt do a damn thing about me being there.
basically....you put illegal items on your bike (as i have) then you know the risks.
you dont ever want to get any grief?? then leave your bike stock. ____________________ Bikes owned :- 2001 nsr125, 1999 zx6r, 2006 yzf-r1, 2009 xmax 250, 2012 yzf-r1, 2015 MT-07

I doubt that would wash with many police And I didnt but mine from a dealer
Is it therefore also technically illegal for a shop to offer ridein - rideout exhaust fitting? |
