Can't view the video at work, but if its the ENV bike designed by SeymourPowell then its been around for a good couple of years, and as a concept for a couple of years before that.
But if they have finally put it into production then thats a good thing
Although I think it looks more like a bicycle with an engine rather than a motorbike with a fuel cell. |

Problem is that it only does 50mph with a tank range of 100 miles and it already has a bigger tank than most sports tourers. ____________________ Don't practice it until you get it right, practice it until you don't get it wrong.

Yes but by then people will be commercially producing hyrdrogen.
Which uses electricity.
Which you need to use coal for. ____________________ Don't practice it until you get it right, practice it until you don't get it wrong.

So it'd be impossible to have local solar/wind powered hydrogen generators then? You have to use coal? ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

I dunno what it takes to make hydrogen but my physics teacher said there wouldn't be enough space for all the windmills, or we would have to switch to totally coal and nuclear for our mains power.
Don't get me wrong I want what's good for the environment, I just don't think that this is a viable solution. ____________________ Don't practice it until you get it right, practice it until you don't get it wrong.

the futures nuclear it would solve loads of problems , and we can just shoot the used plutonium straight to the moon lol
theres a thought imagine a nuclear powered bike haha |

it says in the video that renewable energy is used to electrolyse water into hydrogen and oxygen, and you're right, using coal, oil or gas fired power stations would be pointless. In terms of using renewable it's genius, beause rather than having some stupid solar car, you can use the hydrogen fuel to essentially transfer your renewable energy into your vehicle, whilst the vehicle can remain largely identical to current design paths, with exception to the motor.
In terms of not enough room for windmills, there is no 'single' solution. It's all about using a range of methods, solar, wind, tidal, geothermal etc, and of course nuclear, which will no doubt be required to bridge the gap to having enough renewable. ____________________ CBR125R '05 > CB500 '00 > CBR600F '99 |

You don't need a huge amount of power for the electrolysis process.
Ideally you might have a solar panel on garage or house or ultimately on the vehicle itself (energy producing paint ?)
Since most vehicles can stand around charging far more than they are running, the energy gathered would usually be enough.
Although so far they are simply topping up with hydrogen that's been produced elsewhere. |
