Well, its been coming. I have been thinking about selling my GSXR750K8 for a little while now. I was going to buy my mates RSVR but after a trip to the dealers today I have come away the proud, yet slightly skint-er owner of one of these...

https://i511.photobucket.com/albums/s355/K8Jonny/P131008_114403.jpg

2008 plate 848 2.5k miles, barely used, the tyres are like new whoever owned this previously has hardly used the bike (cue always in the workshop style gags!!)

Will be kinda sad to see the GSXR going but you only live once so might as well try something new

Here is the GSXR in its element...

Farewell, GSXR750, it was fun!!

Little bit bored of it in a way, and also i need to stop riding like such an utter looonatic which is what the GSXR thrives on.Had new GSXR's for the last three years and really wanted something different....

Did quite a lot on the GSXR tho, Nurburgring + Ring GP circuit, brands hatch trackday...etc etc so i have deffo had a gd time with it

So, what's it really like compared with the GSXR? I am thinking of getting an 848 next spring. A piece of art compared with the new Fireblade! The problem is, I own a GSXR 1000 and absolutely love it. The trouble is, if the Devil made bikes, he would make GSXR's. Fact! Very Happy

Stunning machine there R6johnny.

Any mods planned ?

I think the white ones look best, (Possibly exc Tri-Colore, don't know if they do that on the 848 though ??? )

The 848 is absolutely stunning. Congratulations mate.

Plus you should be able to enjoy its supposed impeccable corner stability and torque without hitting 3 figure speeds every single time you open the throttle.

Enjoy it and look after it.

Thumbs Up

Exactly the effect i am after, if i stick with the Gixxer its only a matter of time til i lose my licence or more...

Am looking at a DB screen for the 848, standard is rather low....

and possibly some white rim tape

A decent double bubble is one of the things I find makes speed feel slow; might be worth considering keeping the current one if part of the idea is to slow it all down a bit while keeping a sensation of speed.

True but if you regularly do some motorway mileage the DB screen is a godsend.

Not great, 80 miles to a tank when ridden hard apparently.....so 80 miles per tank it is then!!

Cant wait now to pick the thing up, have already started ordering bits for it !! Jonny loves new(ish) bikes

Davo, i pick it up on Saturday, this is now the fourth bike i have bought from them!! Started with the K6 750 aaah i have spent far too much money on bikes! Sad

My rsv can be just as bad, big twins for you. Though I'd still get one if it only did 50 miles till reserve. Lovely bikes Thumbs Up

Why the fudge would you care about MPG if you have a duke sports bike? If your first question about it is 'What is the consumption like?' I suggest you look at another bike.

Why did you go for the 848 over the 1098?
