Tried $hit loads over the years and now settled with these below.
Everyone's ears are different and some plugs will fit others wont.

Interestingly they list the Max as the highest SNR rated single use plug at 37, but the E.A.R Earsoft FX plugs are SNR rated at 39 ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

I use the Max Lite and the Laser Lite ones and they are both very good (for me anyway). They are also good for sleeping after a night shift or sleeping at festivals - apparently there was a riot 10yds away from my tent in 2005 and I slept through it with a pair of Max Lites in ____________________ I spend all my money on bikes and beer, the rest I simply waste! |

i use these, originally they were corded but my latest batch have been cordless. (cord just snaps off anyway)
https://www.howardleight.com/images/media/0000/0035/quiet_corded_medium.jpg
only problem i have is my left ear is slightly larger so often i find its not a great fit and as much noise gets through as if i wasn't wearing them.
but at £1 for 50 pairs i don't complain.[/img] |

I got a pair of washable ones from Hein Gericke, they were £15 I think, but they're very very good. They let some noise in, so you can still hear some speech, and zips etc. But they cut out the harmful stuff.
They come in a red leather case, and have 2 different noise things to change the amount they let in.
Well worth the money, I'm on my second pair now because I lost one
