I currently have an alpinestars T-Dyno textile jacket in red white and black and some AST-1 waterproof pants, my jacket is very warm whatever the temp but while its showerproof its not fully waterproof ?

what are peoples opinions on this as a cheap jacket to just throw on over my textile when it chucks it down ? its small so I can keep it in my tank bag incase I ever get caught in torrential rain ? or is it just gay ?

Its like a Jonny Jacket, not sure if it'd go over some textiles though.

If it's got mesh side panels then surely it's not going to be 100% waterproof?

it says its for serious offroad use and on the official alpinestars website it says its 100% waterproof, plys my AST- 1pants are breathable yet fulkly waterproof. I was thinking of getting an extra large as my jacket is large so it should just go over the top really !!!

It's quite cheap. I would be tempted to try it and see if it works.

I've got these over-jacket and over-trousers...

Clicky

Could get the a jacket for about £20 on ebay i reckon, looks slightly better than the one you posted maybe? It's very very good, 100% waterproof and has never let anything in except once but i left the zip open at the top which is why.

The one you posted is probably just as good but their both good id imagine Thumbs Up .

Bloke at work has them and has had them for the past 3 years atleast (how long i've been working there) so maybe a previous design but look the same.

He has ridden his bike to work EVERY DAY (bar the ones where he hasn't been in) whatever the weather and his gear is never wet what so ever. He swears by them and reccomended i got some, unfortunatley i couldn't afford the £60 they were at the local bike shop so had to go for some cheaper ones.

But i'd reccomend getting the ones in the link above.

Won't something like that make you sweat like a paedophile in a playground?

I do not know if Preston has a gay quarter like Soho in London, Canal St in Manchester or Hurst St in Birmingham but if it does do not go anywhere near it in that coat.
