Hi all i have been wandering around this great forum for a short while and it already has helped me with a few problems i have with my bike, but i have one quick question that i hope you can help me with
ive only been riding bikes for a few weeks now and my first bike a honda cg 125 1996 seams to be running very slow. on a recent trip to the next town the best i could get out of her was 40-45mph! is this normal? im sure it should get up to at least 55-60. this was an open road with no other cars and was hoping to see what the bike could do and i wasnt to impressed dont get me wrong i love my bike i just wish it would go a bit faster. any advice u could give would be appreciated thank you |

thanks for the replys,
never really thought about things like weight. i weighed myself this morning and im about 17 stone (haven't weighed myself since i got married!! that was a shock!)
as for the wether it was a bit windy and the road was an seldom used A road with many twists and turns and ups and downs.
all these things must be making a difference. i always assumed that if a bike was supposed to do 60mph then thats what it would do regardless of other factors like wether/weight. but at least i know that the bike is fine which is good. and i will try going up and down the same stretch of road to see if wind direction makes any difference
thanks for advice and the website link too guys |

Well i managed to get 65 out of the bike yesterday
i checked all the thing that could be wrong and it turns out i was just changing gear to early i ranted it in each gear and only changed to 5th at the last possible second. i can now get 50-60 out of it no problem. thank for all your advice people, i guess i just needed more practice and confidence riding the bike (which can only come with time) thanks again for all the tips im sure they will come in handy if anything does ever go wrong in the future |
