The first car that was mine, mine, mine, all mine was a Mini Clubman Estate in baby poo brown (I think it was officially "Harvest Gold") that looked remarkably like this one:-
https://www.paulridley.co.uk/Mini_Clubman_Estate_Norwich_on_Trailer.JPG
If I were passing my test now, I'd probably go for a Nissan Micra, Daewoo Matiz or a Diesel Lupo. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

1.2i Breeze Blue Nova. Great little car. Sold it a couple of months after passing my test, it was then written off by a Police car
If I passed my test today, I'd probably be looking for a Mini (classic), I think it should be enforced by law that everyone should have a Mini as a first car. You'd probably see far fewer 'new driver' crashes!

An A reg 1984 ex-MOD Mini in black (called Moneypenny) like this one:
https://www.davep.org/mini/jet-black3.jpg
If I passed my test nowadays, I'd probably go for something like a Peugeot 306, not too chavvy but cheap to buy and run. ____________________ Current: 2002 FJR1300, 1999 Thundercat, Previous: 1998 XVS650 Dragstar

I had 4, an ex-police 850 saloon that was upped to 1000cc, the Clubman, a pickup and another 1000 saloon I bought new in '87.
If I had garage space and spare cash, I'd have another for projecty goodness. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

I had a mark 1 Ford Escort in deep purple It had the biggest sunroof possible and all my drunken friends being taxied home used to call it the moonroof
Now I'd probably go for a Smart car, so I had a cheap ride and didn't end up being a taxi all the time (cos I'm mean like that ) ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

I had a Mk2 Fiesta. B reg, Ghia model.
1.1 litres of pure wheelspin!
Now...? I'd probably have a 306 or something really really cheap like a Citroen AX. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

Morris Marina Van
God the miles I did and the fun I had in that underpowered, cold and noisy rust bucket. What a feeling driving along window down fag in hand- Van Morrison on the tape deck. Off to the beach or anywhere that I could afford the petrol to get to.
Mine was biege not blue.

Thats a proper first car. If all kids today had a car like that for their first two years we could solve a lot of problems on our roads. ____________________ Famous last words of Humpty Dumpty. " Stop pushing me "

LOL I was a metro boy too.
I had a Rover Metro 1.1S. The 'S' was for 'Soprt' as it had more supportive seats and a 5 speed gearbox! Woo! ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

Mine was this wee beastie, a 1.8 bravo HLX, was only meant to be a winter hack but was too good not to keep. Heated seats were an utter winner! £1400 back then, only just scrapped it!
(this was taken two weeks after I got her, 4 and a bit years ago)

If I'd just passed now i'd probably buy something in the £500-£1000 bracket and aim for japanese... and then end up buying something rediculous as I usually do! ____________________ A quater of a NC30 and a whole tatty ZX6R J2, that's plenty...

A khaki Austin Maxi (similar to the picture) which my stepfather sold me. I had to work in my parents' bistro washing dishes to pay for it.
It was horrid, but as with all first cars it was "mine, all mine".
I remember being the "supply car" for my mate who was doing her Duke of Edinburgh award, she was cycling from Auckland to Rotorua - and for some odd reason which escapes me now, I had to drive her and a load of her mates about 10 miles, which we did with the "hatchback" up, I have no idea why, and them all being gassed on fumes and practically falling out the back with laughter all the way.
By the time I was ready to get rid of it, I had to park it on a slope to bumpstart it.
