I'm guna be insuring my CBR soon and was wondering if I would have to declare a tinted bubble screen and mini indicators?

wasn't sure if it would need to be declared or not!

thanks in advance Thumbs Up

i woudlnt think so, they usualy have "Ticky box" section and you can just tick what you have on....

But the Companies are usualy tight when it comes to paying out, so they will try and get out of it someway...

i've got a bubble screen on my CBR as it was there when i bought the bike and i wouldn't have thought it would be classed as a mod.

generally anything that would increase engine power output or performance would be.

not sure about the indicators but want some for mine so will have to check with my insurer

I'd keep my mouth shut and not mention anything, don't give them any excuse to load your premium. Its only a screen and mini indicators anyway, nothing major at all.

It depends on the company, if they aint going to charge you a lot for it then i'd declare it, its only extra reason for them to find a problem and not payout if you ever claim.

technically ANYTHING that changes the vehicle from factory spec is a mod, so yes you should declare them

whether you do or not is up to you, i probably wouldn't.

after all indicators are easily broken if the bike is dropped etc

I think you are meant to declare them but I have the same things on my CBR and haven't (because I forgot). They probably consider certain mods as affecting risk even if they aren't performance enhancing, after all if you see a Nova with lexus lights, LEDS, a stupid spoiler and a "Vauxhall sport" sunstrip you might be inclined to think it was more likely to be involved in an accident than a standard one Laughing

As already said anything not standard is a modification. Some things make the bike more desirable to thieves and hike up the premium.

I declare everything on my bike, better safe than out of pocket.
