Don't know about the UK, but here in Barcelona the fuel prices are dropping like flies!
Today I payed 95 cents per litre of 95 unleaded!
5 euros was 5.26 litres!
Only 2 months ago it was 1.19 per litre. More than 20% drop |

Whats OPEC got to do with it? , the bit they take is tiny compared to what the government takes.....
Oh and if the £ hadn't been trashed by the government (lowering interest rates) petrol might well be 80p a litre or less...
This however means less ££££ for the government which means government finances are going to tank even worse than they are doing so now. Which means more taxes elsewhere....
And a final triple whammy , interest rates are going to go up up and away, namely because UK government bail out plans require the sale of bonds, and to make them attractive you have to boost the interest rate which should make the £ appreciate. But kill plenty of mortgage holders....
The government is fast running out of ammo to deal with recession , we have 3% more to cut and then we have the zimbabwe option. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Petrol prices are dropping yet the gap between petrol and diesel appears to be growing.
It's now around 15p per litre.
Discussing this there's a number of reasons...
Diesels are seen as company cars so companies can foot the bills
Was told this country has no diesel refining capability so it's all imported whereas petrol is delivered straight from the refinery
The oil companies can see a nice little markup
Anyone any other ideas, maybe even a correct one?
I've also noticed a trend for 'clean' petrol and 'clean' diesel priced, obviously , more expensive. I suspect it won't be long before the companies choose to phase out 'dirty' fuel so you can only buy the more expensire (and for some reason I suspect more profitable) 'clean' stuff. ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

Petrol prices in the UAE are absolutely shockingly high. They pay 14p!!! A litre!!!
They don't have a petrol refinery in the UAE so they ship their crude oil to Saudi for refining. Apparently in Saudi they only pay 7p a litre! If it drops below 90p a litre, good times, if it gets back down to where I started at 80 real good times. I am a bit worried that this is just a temporary drop to make it seem like prices are going down before they get hiked again. ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R.
