Evenin'

So after I buggered my front left hand side indicator up after coming off the other week, I ordered a replacement. It doesnt look the same as the original, which was a small silver round shaped casing, this one is a big black thing that I've seen on most other pictures of NSR's for sale on ebay. So I connected it up and tested to see if it blinked.

It didnt, it lights up but then the rear left hand indicator does the same, and theres a weird whirring noise coming from the back end of the bike under the seat release mechanism, and thats how it stays.

The right hand side works fine. I had wondered if I need to replace both left and right front indicators with the same type of indicator, but when I disconnected the right hand side one, I got the same results from both indicators on the left side still.

Can anyone give me any insight as to what might be going on here?

Thanks,

GhostRider

Hi, Did you fit the after market indicators to your nsr, do you now if they are led's or normal bulbs. They use different flasher units which are situated under the rear seat where the noise is comming from. if you have an led unit it will not work properly with std bulbs. All nsrs were fitted with the big black plastic ones which you have got like you see on most bikes sor sale.
Also just check the wireing to make sure you don't have a short?

sound like you have different aftermarket indicators fitted

The left and right side indicators are not connected,

if you can post a pic of the indicator on this thread i might have one that would fir your bike. look if it has a bulb, or LED's

Good luck, Ken Thumbs Up

Hi guys,

This is the one I ordered

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=160184781656

As far as I can tell its a bulbed indicator, same as the previousone. I will try and get a picture of the original indicator on here later.

Alains you're a top bloke, I checked the bulb, was 21W, but luckily I had a bag of spare bulbs lying around and found a 10W, stick that in and tested it, works like a charm now. Thankyou very much.
