Hi
Went to start my XJR1300 today and although the bike started OK The oil lamp came on after about 10 seconds.
Checked the level looks OK.
The bike does live outside but have never had this happen before.
It has been unused for about 5 weeks.
ANy ideas anyone?
Cheers
Ali

Your oil light works on a pressure switch not oil level. If it comes on you MUST turn the engine off immediately. The switches are quite prone to failing (where they come on too early or not at all) so your first step would be to buy a replacement. Before you do, check the wiring to make sure the wire isn't pinched or shorting on the frame or engine and that the end is still fixed tight on the switch. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
