Big_Ham has some BSD ones which he's willing to sel cheaply... I think. He offered them to me but only reason I've said no is well... you know
also, getting too long ones will be stupid. The only way I can see it causing damage to the frame or engine is if the bike flips and lands on the bung. Like it did with mine . Frame wasn't damaged though. They were the big chunky ones I think.
Bars are cheap to replace (15 quid for renthals). It's just the mirrors. Why not get some nicer looking ones that fit in the OEM spot? ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

As has been said R&G's are the way to go on the Hornet...
Generally speaking if any bungs are sticking out wider than the handlebars you went wrong somewhere ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

BSD?
Also... renthals are more like £25 now!
I like my mirrors, great view of the road behind, no elbows in there, and they look shit-hot too. |
Yeah BSD ones. They do a few thngs... If you go on their website they had a BSD Hornet bike with spec'd forks, shock, and engine. Was making 92 at the wheel I believe. Custom riser plates to fit fireblade rearsets... Loads of stuff.
Mirrors may look great yes and eb able to see. But the bad thing is the damage to them when you fall.
So stop complaining
I just rode without mirrors ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

Sorry, haven't been on here recently, I felt like I was about to die yesterday(inflamed lung lining ) so I wasn't on.
The big R&G bungs are very good, however they can break the lower engine mount where the bolt goes throug in heavier crashes, very good for low speed of course.
I have the big BSD bungs on my track bike now. The reason I chose BSD over the R&G bungs was that when I crashed the track bike with them last year(About 40mph IIRC) the bolt holding them on bent (like it should) as oppose to it cracking or snapping the engine mount. So I'm a convert for the hornet.
I do have a set of smaller BSD's that I bought by mistake. You're welcome to them if you want them. They aren't as huge as the big R&G's or the big BSD's, but they are much cheaper and would still be good enough for road use.
IMO if you really want the extra protection of the big bungs go BSD anyway. The are £15 less than the R&G's, and in my experience you stand less chance of busting the engine mount.
