Also a bad idea because everyone would be absolutely shirking responsibility for any minor accident when insurance is involved and getting the other party blamed however possible; "He reversed his bike at speed into my car". |

The way I read it, you still have to option of taking it to court. The fixed penalty is given as an option if you admit liability. In the same way as speeding tickets.
As long as you can still require the police to attend court and proove their case, I don't have too much of a problem.
In some ways, it might actually be to your advantage. If you've done something blatantly stupid, jumping on the offer of a £60 and 3 points might be the lesser of two evils. As things stand, DWDCA HAS to go to court, where you stand a fair chance of a bigger fine and up to 6 points. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink.
