Tempted by a Blackberry as a a new phone as it seems more ideal to my phone needs. The Storm looks a good package but reviews are poor compared to the iphone which Im not too keen on either. The small QWERTY looks too little? Any models better or worse?

Thats a network feature not a handset one.

I dont like Blackberry's I've not seen the storm yet but dont like any of there other handsets as I find the keyboards too small and awkward to use.

If you are a personal user and want email then BIS wouldnt be too bad for getting your mail but for a business it is a poor substitute for direct push using Exchange. BES improves on this but incures an extra licensing cost.

I've recently opted for a HTC Touch HD which I'me happy with as WM6 integration with Exchange is seamless.

If a decent keyboard is what your after take a look at the Nokia E90. I've just replaced mine with the touch and the biggest thing I miss is the proper qwerty keyboard.

When we were taken over by the Canadians it was Blackberry or nothing. I hated it to start with but have got used to it now.
I just got the BOLD as i tried the storm and nearly threw it out the windows after a day. the keyboard touch screen is shite.

The media player is appalling though but it does have wi-fi a real browser so you can actually view web pages, video and camera etc.

All those wee buttons, that wee screen, the awkward software?

Why use something so lacking to engage in something you love doing?

Stay in the office buy a 40" LCD, surround sound and one of them posh reclining office chairs.

Had a one of tham Blueberrys> I thought it was a nasty piece of work. It's in a drawer somewhere...

I had an iphone which i hated as i have sausage fingers so got a blackberry. Loved it so much I got another one. Very Happy

Buttons are really easy to use even though I have quite big hands and i get on with the software well. It's pretty basic in terms of the iphone but i really like mine.

Having had an iPhone and borrowed a Blackberry I would recommend my old phone (no longer, it fell out my pocket on the bike Crying or Very sad ) the Samsung F700V. Slide out Qwerty, big touch screen, does everything you could possibly want it to, and on Vodafone you can get some great contract deals.

I have an iPhone (newest 3G version), love it because of all the stuff you can do on it and it doubles up as a iPod. Wouldn't want to use it if I sent alot of emails from it as the touch screen takes a while to get used to typing on and you get cramp in your fingers if you type for a while. It is good though for general use and its brilliant for looking at sites + the camera is pretty good quality for only 2mp as it is only a single action lense so no video.

I have a Nokia E90 because I'm a geek and I wanted a phone no-one else had. I was tempted by Blackberry but I'd tried a Nokia E62 with that similar tiny keyboard squeezed in the space of a normal phone keypad and hated it (big hands and lanky fingers. The E90 is brilliant to type on if you use your thumbs.

Wrong, I have a 3G.

I've got the Storm on a business contract. Tis' nice bit of kit in my opinion, although the click screen keyboard does take a bit of getting used to when writing mails etc.

This is my second one as I sent the first one back for being faulty.
If you get a Storm make sure it has the latest Frimware on it. At present that's the .78 version - it's pre-installed on the most recent release of the Storm but wasn't on the first 'batch'.

It's not great for browsing the net, the iPhone is definately better, and the lack of WiFi can grate a bit if you are in a rush to find something out. But seen as I use it mainly for mails, and not to see what my Facefuck buddies had for lunch or how bored they are at work, it suits me. Thumbs Up

I set them up an issue them for people at work, and to be honest their not bad devices that work well for what they do. They keyboard is small and takes some getting used to but it is nice having a full qwerty keyboard.

I would stay away from the 8100 pearls as their just a nightmare to use, we currently use the 8300/8320 curve which are nice devices, easy to use and have cameras etc and the 8320 has built in wireless.

Or you could buy one of those fold up bluetooth keyboards which I got myself one for use with that XDA you sold me, the inbuilt keyboard is awful.

You don't buy a crackberry, work issues you with one.

That new google android thing looks tempting, just the handset is a bit lacking. Once they do a version with all of the features of the N95 or even 96, but running android and with the flashy keyboard under screen, I'll have one.

I've got both the Bold and the Storm. The bold is a better device, the storm was rushed and as a result the hardware is poorly developed and the OS needed another month *at least* before being released. I'm only glad I didn't pay for it.
