Hmm, it's a tricky one.

I can see his point of view if he really believed it, but at the same time I think he needs to grow up a wee bit.

He could just prey his arse off when he gets home.

Not all religion is bollocks Chives, there are some sound ideas in Buddhism.

But it's just an advert.

Should bus drivers be allowed to refuse to drive a bus advertising Coca Cola because they're against their ethics?

Quite, it's like a straight person refusing to drive a bus with an advert for the gay times on side.

It's borderline moronic FFS.

Why do people who don't believe in God get such a bad time for actually having a brain?

Because this is Britain. We try to please everyone, especially the minority groups or those with beliefs.

A lot of athiests have a very high and mighty attitude when it comes to religion and all think they're very smart because they want to suck off Richard Dawkings.

A lot of athiests are dicks.

What's the point in such a slogan anyway?

What if it was a Christian message, and the bus driver was a Muslim?

What if it is a Muslim message and the bus driver was a Christian?

What if it was a Christian message and the bus driver was Atheist?

Its ridiculous really, because every one of my examples above would be treated differently. Confused

There is no god. Deal with it.

Religious people are dicks.

The point of the slogan is to demonstrate that atheism is a valid alternative to all religions. It is something that you realise unless you've been brainwashed by the mind control organisations.

Typical bloody Christian hypocrisy. They expect everyone else to listen to and respect their views (god) claiming it has a place in science, school society etc. Yet someone else asserts their view (no god) and they throw a hissy-fit and refuse to have anything to do with it.

How about driving the bus, and maybe engaging in conversation with people as they get on it, such as 'did you see the advert, what do you think about it, do you believe in god?' rather than being a whiny, little, sanctimonious bitch and refusing to drive it.

Well, yes thats obviously true, but why is it OK to say you believe in god but not OK to say you don't? Thats a form of thought control isn't it?

(edit) I can tell from a mile off you're a Christian.. You have an anti semitic avatar! {edit}

It's appealing to those people who don't feel a belief in god has any place in their lives (why would it), but somehow feel unable to reject god completely becuase they feel guilty about it, or that it's wrong an immoral and they are worrying themselves about it.

It showing that there is another school of thought, that it's OK not to believe in god and that are organisations that share this view.

Or something like that.

Atheists, i guess, are just tired of faffing about, that slogan gets to the point...but still it only says 'probably'.

While atheism has caused a Christian man to NOT drive a bus.
Christianity is still the result of a lot of hatred and killing in he world today, directly and indirectly.

Would be a different story if i said 'Allah is the only god', but then perhaps there wouldn't be a bus to put it on as it 'probably' would have been blown up. Laughing

I think everyone should just STFU, you can't buy people's spiritual or religious beliefs and wasting £160,000 seems pointless. I wonder who has pocketed all that money. Rolling Eyes

They put 'probably' because it's impossible to prove something doesn't exist.

You can't prove that there isn't a masturbating monkey called Brian orbiting earth in a space-suit, but that's no reason to believe there is.

You can however prove something does exist. So Christians are welcome to put an advert on a bus saying 'God exists!' as long as they provide some evidence.

Religion does nothing but cause problems, always has and always will. But people who believe in a god seem to think the total opposite!

Religion is for the weak minded who cannot accept that when you die, you die. They need the comfort that there is something/somewhere to go to when they die.

Sad really!

Thumbs Up

I think it might offend G if he was made to drive a bus with a slogan on the side saying "There probably is no flying spaghetti monster, so enjoy your life!"

The point is, no one would bat an eyelid if someone put an "Alpha Course" advert on the side of a bus and it cost £160k.

So SoND, if you aren't a Christian, and you don't like Atheists - I would hazard a guess that you aren't a Jew, so what does that leave? Muslim? I'd like to know because it obviously affects the argument.

It says probably no Dog anyway so it keeps the jeebus freaks happy.

Its getting way to easy to offend religious people nowadays and it's taking all the fun out doing it! Thumbs Down

I don't like Barry Scott. I find him offensive. I mean fancy naming a cleaning product after a part of a womans anatomy?

If I ever become a bus driver, I'm never going to drive a bus with a Cillit Bang! advert on the side. That'll learn 'em!

There is an argument that Buddhism is a philosophy and not a religion. Much like Taoism.
