T-cut won't fully get it out but it will make it more visually attractive.

I've never had to deal with scratches like that on the Hornet so I haven't tried...

I'm assuming you don't want to do it properly and get it resprayed.

There are plenty of scratch repair pastes on the market such as FARECLA SCRATCH REMOVER PASTE that may give relatively decent results. You will generally still see the damage as a mark but it should be the right colour.

I'm being delibrately vague simply because they are not perfect and may cause more damage if your not careful.

You wont be able to cut that out with tcut or g3.
can see from the pic it looks deep, unless you flat it and flat it, to get it flat then polish up, but the likelyhood of wiping the clear off and being on the basecoat then is highly likely, which still might be shit and may need stopper and repaint.

I've used pastes loads of times with 'acceptable' results. Personally I find hob cleaner to be more effective but I never advise anyone to try it. Laughing

I'm guessing its an R6. In which case if you were to buy another R6 sticker from a Yamaha dealer, like the one on the other side of the nose cone then you could stick it over the top of the scratch and you won't hardly see it. Then take the R6 sticker off the other side and only an eagle eyed bike spotter would notice that the R6 sticker is on the wrong side and slightly out of position. Its probably the easiest and cheapest solution in my opinion. Thumbs Up

You need a gel coated number board panel.
The one in the pic is a cbr, but they do other models.

And it'll leave a hideous cloud of swirls over the surrounding bodywork.

I'll whip off the nose cone and take it to a professional. Spraying/repairing segments of bodywork isn't that expensive.

Blue felt tip!

In all seriousness that's not coming out with T-cut, it's gone right the way through all the paint.

I cant see the picture on this computer but from what others are saying it probably need s respraying.

we used chips away (google it for your local one) they come to you and would probably charge you about £60 to sort it.

wifey damaged someone elses car a few months ago parking, we used them to sort out the damage and the people who own the car are dead chuffed with the work he did.

with tafflade on this try dent devils auto pallet chips away or any franchised scratch-dent repair as its a clear over base colour and you will probably go through the lacquer and spoil the finish Thumbs Up

The general rule I go by, is that if you can feel the scratch with the nail of a finger then it's too deep to remove by polishing. If not, then you may be able to polish it out with the help of somebody with a rotary or machine polisher of sorts.

I've tried to use Tcut on my panels and autoglym resin polish on a similar looking scratch on my rear when the bike dropped in the garden (gravel drive)... I've got the bike booked in to get a vinyl rear numberboard redone - it costs £40-45 to get it done and it's cheaper than a respray - and a lot quicker too. I'll let you know how it looks.
