OK.

my bike has an akrapovic race can and a power commander 2 (the serial version) fitted to it which i think i may be a little bit knackered.

its very snatchy at small throttle openings.

now first thing that crossed my mind was that its just the map and i need to downlaod a new map. fine - apart from the fact my laptop doesnt have a serial port so i cant get my pc to my bike.

anyhow - ill get a nice long lead soonish, but in the meantime - ive removed the power commander from the bike - and it seems to be running MILES better - a lot smoother. admitidly it doesnt feel quite as fast but its beeter to ride.

because ive removed the power commander and still running the race can am i damaging my bike untill i manage to get the PC sorted?

I realise the fuelling isnt going to be right but was wondering if this is going to have big negative effects on the engine.

Ta

Gaz.

What bike is it? I'm sure it will be fine if it is just a can. A full system might be more of an issue though.

You also can't guarantee that any map you dowload from the web will be any better... but if it is as out as you say then it could be. My suggestion would be to find a good Dynojet dyno operator near you and get it set up correctly.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Can't guarantee it will work, as I don't know if they are compatible but something like this may do you for hooking your laptop to the serial power commander:

https://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Newlink-USB-To-x1-Serial-(Male)-Converter-Cable-NLUSB-0039

They also sell them in Maplin for £19.99 (owch!) if you want one sooner.

Basically USB to serial adaptor. I've had success with some things but not others.

This could be just the throttle position sensor needing adjusting. I had the same problem on my 916.

Thumbs Up

its a K1 GSXR 750 and as far as i can tell its just the can - cant seem to see any akrapovic branding on the pipes.

may have a go with the USB / serial adapter thing - seems like a useful purchase.
