my friends sv650 will not start on the button. classic case of a dead battery. so we jump started and noticed that when the bike was revved up a little bit all the lights on the bike dimmed. we were a little concerned as to why the battery went flat as the bike is used regularly and we think is only around a year old. the bike was not left out in the cold over winter. the bike is fitted with an alarm so that will drain power.
is there a possible problem with the charging circuit? r a bad ground perhaps? or it is the dimming lights a normal thing if the battery is dead?

Lights "Should" get brighter when you rev the bike to approx 3-4k

It might be that the battery is just flat atm so not enough charge.. As you put the load on it drains the battery so the lights dim.

Get it charged and see what it does after that if i were you.

Thumbs Up

Charge battery, check the voltage when its off and when its running Smile. If it dips when running, there be a fault with the regulator something (I forget the name, sorry).
