Basically i'd been ill since the beginning of janaury due to Kidney problems, which caused me to take about 4/6 weeks off from Uni and my Clinical Placement. Now i've been feeling alot better now for the past 3 weeks physically and have finnaly been given the all clear in the kidney department by the doctor who was looking after me.

But the problem that really is bothering me now is, i've become somewhat lazy and a bit of a tosser, im currently on my finaly placement of my 1st year studying for a nursing diploma, i've got a few bits of paperwork that need completing etc to pass my 1st year which ends in 4 weeks.

Now my problem is i have no drive to get up and actually go in at the moment, and get out of bed. I mean i still keep thinking its really what i wanna do but then i end up doing this. Don't seem to know what the problem is, because im not ill anymore so its not that.

Any suggestions people as to how i can get motivated again, before becoming i'll i was annoyed if i was even 30 seconds late for uni or a placement.

Getting me down and if i continue i'll probably get thrown off the course. Sad

Sit in Mc'donalds for a couple of hours , and watch how the managers abuse the staff , this is your future if you don't get on with it.

I have never really understood this mentality.

This semster (3rd year semster 2) we are doing a research project, no lectures just pure literature review and lab work. We all got to choose our projects and with mine i get to work with 2 PHD students and my superviser whos leading the field of research my project is within.

So, needs to get done and if i work had i get the whole of easter off. Yet so many people are sitting around smoking/masturbating/other forms of procrastination and then complain they havnt done anything.

They way i tend to look at it (which might help) is that staying at home is relatively boring compared to going up to uni/work and working on the side (i get paid lots to ride my motorbike to various events such as career fairs).

Maybe if you look at it this way and how proud you will feel when you graduate and can start a career which although very hard will have times of being rewarding.

What do you do most days?

Good point really! To be fair i have got a 3,000 word essay that needs resubmitting as i cocked it up first time round, so i've been doing that.

Sounds stupid but had a word with a mate who's on the course and he has just said don't fuck it up. I mean if i do continue to do this and get kicked off the course i will basically have no future and will be a bum in a shit job. So tommorow, gonna head to the hospital where im on placement, apologise to them for not being in, speak to uni do the same thing and then basically make up the time i've lost.

As it what i really wanna do nursing, just being lazy and stupid.

As you've been poorly, I'd think you're probably a little run down still too. Get yourself into a good (boring) routine of working, eating well and resting properly with good quality sleep. Rottie's advice of some exercise is a great one and I'd throw a few multi-vitamins down your neck to make sure your Iron level is good, as that being low can make you a bit lethargic.

It's that time of year when you're coming out of hibernation - it's Spring, get up and get going!! (boot up ar$e Wink )!!
