I have a 1991 CG 125 with kickstart only. I need to fit a new exhaust, but want to sort out this problem first.
The kickstart is fouling on the exhaust and putting a dent in it. The join of the downpipe and the silencer is corroded so I wish to replace the exhaust.
Are there different exhausts available for electric/kickstart machines?

Anyone else had this problem and what did you do?

Thanks

Hi, i've not had your particular problem, but you can always try loosening the pinch bolt and re-aligning the kick start on the spline.

Make sure the exhaust is mounted properly, if its twisted at the engine then it wont line up on the rest of the bike, also check your kickstart is attached firmly and not slid down the splines etc etc.

If the exhaust and the kickstart are in the right place, mark the exhaust where the kickstart hits it, then put a block of wood on it and hit it with a hammer to dent it in a bit, this will give you clearance.

Cheers
John

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance.

the two exhaust mounting bolts on the cg, just under the passenger foot peg rust and snap easily, long before the chrome exhaust does. check them first
