Believe it or not i have only just discovered what sidelights are...

And i thought they were dipped beam Embarassed

Anyway, on the gpx400r and xj600s if i put my switch into the 'sidelights' position only the rear light illuminates on both bikes. However on an sv650 i have just seen it has a small light up front that illuminates.

Should the gpx400r and xj600s have a light on on the front when the sidelights are on? and if so where is the bulb as obviously this needs replacing!

Sorry this sounds so stupid, i can strip and engine now but bugger me if i understand electrics.

Well the XJ 600 certainly has a sidelight bulb.

Find it in the headlight at the bottom.

I would say most bikes have them in the same place as well.

On this XJ. Stick your hand up the fairing between the forks and feel for the wires at the bottom of the light. Its just a rubber bung that you pull out. Its a lot easier than the main bulb Thumbs Up

Try some of the modern cars, some need the headlight unit to come out completely for any bulb to be replaced.
