the std Peugeot 100cc engine seems to put out about 7.5bhp at the wheel. My Speedfight with me on it (11.5-12st) would always sit at an indicated 90kph/56mph on the flat, unless you had a decent tailwind to push it to 60mph. The real speed achieved according to my sigma trip computer was 54mph.
With 11.8bhp from tuning, the normal top speed rose to an indicated 110kph/68mph and this was 63mph on the trip computer.
The only mod i would reccomend anyone to try on the 100cc engine's is the PM55 exhaust. It needs new rollers and re-jetting, but it does seem to show nearly 2bhp extra over more than 1/2 the speed range. The top end seems to be 4-6mph better and it holds 55mph for much longer and up hills. This would have set me back less than £250 and made my scoot a bit more fun and nicer to ride. The £700 i spent on tuning just made it un-reliable instead. |
