Earlier on, me and biohazard were trying to sort out a slow puncture I had in my back tyre.

That is fixed but while the wheel was off we though lets clean up the back end and polish the rim to a shine. Then I thought, heck, lets do the whole thing. I have till Saturday morning to strip, clean, polish, reassemble and test because I have to ride 30 miles Saturday afternoon.

At the moment it is halfway through being stripped down.

Tomorrow:

Engine out
Front wheel off
Everything apart from electrics off the frame.

Clean frame in the day and when it gets dark, do all the nuts and bolts inside on the motorised wire brush. biohazard has loads of degreasing stuff and different sprays and gizmo's to clean. I have autosol as well to polish the heaps of chrome I have all over the bike.

Lots of pictures. I may be able to get some up from today's work a bit later on.

This project will be done by Saturday hopefully otherwise I will have to use public transport to get to work Sad

Right lots of pics uploaded now.

They explain themselves.
Didn't end up removing the engine as no point, plus I needed the bike ready for tomorrow and didn't want to risk failure.

Note sponge in the intake to absorb any excess liquid from washing the frame.

After it got dark we decided to do some extra mods.
Mudguard was a bit scruffy so decided to paint it. We did that and ended up painting the forks gloss black. Front wheel has the hub and spokes painted black with awesome silver ring around it. The actual rim is still shiny chrome. Repainted the clocks and touched up a few areas.
We took the gators so the stanches are showing. The bike is now all black and chrome with minimal rust. Pictures of those will come soon. Looks like sex.

Thanks to biohazard for his awesome paint skillz Thumbs Up

Drop the motor out of that Madass and shove a 150 lump in there.

A YX150 motor can be modified to give off a 12v feed to power the lights.

Lifan also produce a 150cc motor based on the Daytona competition engine. It's what I'm currently running in my pit bike. Its fitted with an outer rotor kit so a bit of wiring and you can power your lights / battery from it.

15bhp motors, Bolt in/on power. It will do a good 65/70mph.
I know a lad with a Lifan 150 motor in a Honda Cub50! Laughing
