Hi lads,

Not the foggiest about these, going to get some eventually so may aswell find out whats what now. Which makes are decent. Also I notice on ebay ads it states tyre size as 180 rears. Still be fine for 160's surely?

Cheers

I have Diamond Security ones, no complaints.

Chicken Hawk also got good recommendations when I asked about it, but I think they were about £300 or so. The Dia Sec ones are about £180.

Be careful of cheap ebay ones, some have been known to catch fire. Thumbs Up

Usually the warmers come in a couple of sizes, but 160 section rears are rare on sports bikes, so I'm not sure what I'd recommend for them.

You're better off with 160-sized warmers as you'll find 180s have quite a lot of spare fabric to tie up and you have to be careful to not melt them round the edges.

Minitwins are all 160 rear so a UK company like Diamond Security should do you 160 size, or look for second hand on Motoforum (which is also a good place to sell them if you buy a bike with a bigger back wheel later).

Not worth it - they'll break. If you're lucky they won't catch fire doing it.

Get a decent make and look after them, and they'll always be worth something if you want to sell on. You should also be able to get them repaired if you do damage them.

https://www.diasec.co.uk/ - I like mine.

I use 180 warmers on a 160 and its not a problem, if anything it helps keep the tyre walls/rim up to temp!! Thumbs Up

Are you going to race or trackday?

If its race, then go for the best ones, but if it is trackday, the popular chepo ones will see you right ... Thumbs Up

I have both expensive and cheap ones, the only real difference is the padding in the warmers, the expensive warmers heat quicker and retain the heat better ... but the cheapo ones are fine if you are just after some initial heat!! Thumbs Up

I've got some of the 1st gen Motrax ones ... and they are fine ...

I have heard good things about the eBay 'motogp' labeled ones too ... but not seen or tested them myself ...

I've used the motogp branded ones for 2 seasons racing and haven't had any problems. They're a superbike size (160 I think) used on 125 size rims, and haven't melted or caught fire yet, keeps the brakes warm too. Laughing
What more can you say? they get my tyres hot and haven't broken yet Thumbs Up

Think i'm going for the Diamond ones, from the specs I read they are the better choice to go for. Especially with relying on them as such
