I've been offered a CCM (I think its a 644 although unsure of models!) in exchange for my diversion 600.

I really want a bike with alot of low end power, and something a bit different so thought this might be a nice option but i was wondering if it was a good idea?

I mean normally supermoto's sell for ALOT i cant understand why i could get one for <£1000.

Also what milages should i expect it to be able to run to?

Any general information is good!

I considered a CCM 644 & the 604 , which is based on the suzi DR650 engine , should be bomb proof engine as is the DR650 engine (bar oil leaks though this just needs a gasket change).604 is based on the rotax engine from BMW I believe. I rejected them both due to out of EU parts availibility , ie there are Yam/Honda/Suzi/Kawak even in out of the way places like Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

And also the higher compression than Yam XT (though this shouldn't bother you due to uk's quality fuel).

I think they go for a lower price overall as they aren't a big name manufacturer, hell they make them in a big warehouse in Bolton 2 miles away from me and thus their less famous name = less demand.

Kind of like Husquavana or MZ which are fine bikes but nobody trusts them as they aren't one of the big Japanese 4 or European 5

One question though, how tall are they?

I can flat foot on bikes such as the veradaro 125, xj600 etc but never really sat on a crosser/supermoto, at 5'10" with a normal leg length will i have problems?

I'm 5'6" and can tip toe on an FMX650.

That's a very good deal for a 644 if it's in ok nick. Not so great for a rotax engined 604/640, but still not too bad.
As far as parts go, the 644 uses a Suzuki engine with Suzuki bodywork, Italian brakes and Austrian suspension (? both standard stuff on KTMs, etc).
Don't see parts should to be too bad on that basis, really.

Whether it's got more low-end power is questionable. It may feel like it compared to your diversion, but that's probably because it's geared lower. My zx9 has much more low-end power than my KTM690. However, the big singles can give the impression they have more because they often don't rev high and don't have that high peak power along with low gearing.

If you geared a 600cc+ sports bike to be the same as any supermoto, I'd be willing to bet it'd have more lowdown 'go' whatever gear you're in, etc.
