Right my shower unit is OLD yellowed and full of crud and has virtually seized I know if I force it any more the plastic tab to control the water mixer will snap.

Rummaging around in the attic however I found a stainless steel mixer shower tap thing.

The bolts look like they are an exact match as they line up and are the same size.

So is it just a case of turning off the water supply , undoing the big two bolts on the yellowed shower mixer tap and bolting it back on ? , or is there something more complicated with this?.

And yes Leggygirl that is the colour a white motorbike will turn to after some time.

Any thoughts ? Karma

Not a plumber but basically yes, the only thing I would do is after closing the stop cock open the taps to drain any residual water pressure, oh and use a little PTFE tape on the threads when fitting the new mixer
