Bike won't start :(

Hi, I have an aprilia rs125 07 model. Its been stood a couple of months, and now I cant get it to start. Theres plenty of petrol in the tank and Ive been and bought a new battery. When I push the start button it clicks but wont start. Ive also had it in first and rocked it back and forth just to make sure the starter motor isnt stuck...it sounds like it wants to start. I've tried bumping her down the street several times but nothing...help What can I check next?

Carb,
most likely needs a clean out
especially the main and pilot jets.

Although you dont say whether your hearing the starter trying to turn it over at all?

When I press the start switch it clicks but dosent go ant further than that, its not turning over.

I rode it a while back and everything was ok...

Did you charge up the brand new battery?
sounds like first you need to get it turning over, the clicking noise is usually caused by a dead flat battery, not having enough power to spin the starter over.

How do you know the battery is fully charged? Have you measured its voltage?

Its possible the new battery you bought is faulty.

Are you sure you have connected it the correct way?

The battery charger says the batteries full, and yup its all conected the right way. Ive just bought a new spark plug for her too.

Im not saying your an idiot at all mate but my battery charger said exactly the same thing on my battery a couples of weeks ago but the bike wouldn't start. I measured the voltage and it was only about 5v - 6v. I got a new battery, charged it, fitted it and the bike started as soon as I pushed the button.

engine seized due to rust or corrosion of the cylinder walls.

My SR 50 seized after I left it untouched for 3 months in a cold shed.
But i'm not sure, cuz i sold it as spares and repairs in ebay straight away

Try bump starting it this can free up the engine if it is seized abit like joan says.

Sit on the bike with the ignition on and get some mates to push you, first try in first or second gear with the clutch in once your up to speed let the clutch out fast if this should turn the engine over. Give it some gas and bounce on the seat.

Draining the tank and putting fresh juice in would be a good idea.

Hi, I finally had chance to take another look at her. It was the filter in the fuel tank that was clogged up. When I emptied all the fuel out the bottom was full of crap. She's all good now and Ive had her out for a spin today
