I have never bothered with any petrol loyalty schemes like this because I tend to just go and fill up wherever it's cheapest or somewhere that is close to/on the way to somewhere where I feel like going.
However I've always wondered if it would be worth using one to save money. I have a friend who will drive to the nearest town (seven miles away from his house) just to go to Tesco to fill up, when his girlfriend will be using the car the next day to go to work in said town (although not sure if that's for the clubcard points or just for an excuse to go for a ride).
In response to your original post, it sounds like a very big scam organised by the staff. Unless your girlfriend actually sent a form in the post and got a card back I would be very tempted to confront the staff and ask what's going on. ____________________ H100 Breaking for spares |
