hey just a quick question, i'm having a problem with my 1980 gs450L it seems to be a common problem but i'm only getting a spark on one coil. i've replaced the ignitor unit and signal generator plate but am still getting the same problem, it only seems to be firing on the side fed by the black/yellow wire

bugger, looks like you have a dry joint in the cdi,
depending on the cdi, you may be able to seperate the inner from the case, be careful, check all the solder connections, and re melt them all with a soldiering iron
its a common problem with all old eletronics,

It might be a dry joint but normally its a resister inside the casing thats been compressed and broke due to stress, right where the multiplug goes in, common fault.
