right i have a classic bike, and the right hand cylinder won't run without choke on, now i don't think it's the carb as is single carb and the left hand doesn't do this. also at high throttle the choke acts as a speed limiter (as in more choke faster top speed)

any suggestions as to the cause?

could there be an air leak on that cylinder? it could be running lean as its getting too much air and the choke brings it back to the right A/FR range

Quick test would be spraying WD40 around areas/connections/boots/seals where the induction runner is.

Revs/idle etc should increase momentarily whilst the WD tempoarily seals it.

firstly check for splits and cracks in the inlet, when the bike is running listen for any hissing, maybe put a little bit of washing up liquid around the inlet and watch for bubbles.

well sprayed WD40 in and it didn't seem to increase the revs on that cyclinder, (scientifically tested by putting my hand over the exhaust). am gonna test if it is HT lead/ingnition based tommorrow. unless anyone has more suggestions?

EDIT: also i have a some sludge at the bottom of the oil tank, is there any way to remove this without unbolting it and flushing it with petrol?
