Piaggio zip 50cc, without log book!

Hi,

Well my friend just won a auction on ebay for a Piaggio Zip 50cc 2t, just want to ask a few questions.

- Is there any way he can contact a company van to go collect the bike for him ?. Any sites, emails, contact numbers? and what will the cost be for 10 miles and back ? [ just a quote that you guys think]

- The seller has no log book but does have the NEWKEEPER SUPPLEMENT, is the the part where it says his the new keeper or the part you have to fill in ?.

you need to contact DVLA. they will contact who they have as the registered owner, and confirm who now owns the bike.

and aslong as they confirm that theyve sold you ( or your mate) the bike. they should send you a replacement logbook. ( im guessing the guy he bought it off has lost it?)

just having the new owner suplament is not proof of ownership. so if you get stopped just with that you can get done becasue its still registered to the previous owner.

so yeah, just contact DVLA and explain, they will talk you through it Thumbs Up

He can get like some motor transport courier to pick the bike up for him, alternatively. if he knows someone who drives a van, ask them and offer him some petrol money!

With the V5 issue, you need a "V62 form" , obtainable from your local post office.
Simply fill it out, send it off, and with in a few weeks a new v5 will be at your door, the same as any other V5 , with both the new keepers supplement , and the bit that has all the bike info and new keepers addressee form on.

Can you not offer the seller a tenner or something to drive the bike to your house? He'd have to bring someone to take him back of course, or perhaps you or someone you know could give him a lift home.

Probably cost alot more to hire someone to pick it up in a van...nothing to lose by asking the seller.

AS I HAVE ALREADY SAID.

contact DVLA, they will contact the legal registered owner and ask that person if they have sold the bike to you.

if the registered owner says yes. DVLA will send a replacement logbook for you to fill in.

as for the van thing, im sure someone you know has a van ? or why dont you or him or someone just drive it back ?
