I'm the only motorcyclist at work, but I'm into all kinds of motors/motorsports/etc, and often indulge in the studio banter whenever the conversation moves to cars/driving/etc.

Conversation came around to what I thought was the car equivalent of my CBR - I kinda put it down to a cross between a midrange sized, performing/giant killing potential of a something like an Evo (but with less technology/driver aids) with the everyday, common as muck practicalities of something like a Ford Focus.

How would you categorise your bike?

And old Lamborgini Countach, abusively loud and brash, woefully impractical, gets suprisingly hot, moderately quick and leaves your legs barely able to walk after an hour in the thing Smile

Only big difference is that my SP1 takes less technique to reverse Wink

Id compare the zxr to an old mk2 golf thats been in the hands of a boy racer. Its bloody quick and corners like its on rails but its also a harsh ride and unbelievably loud.

The sr125 on the other hand would be a shopping trolley with an electric drill motor attached Laughing

MCN classifies my bike as the "Vauxhall Astra diesel of motorbikes".

I'll go with that Smile

One of those Volvo estates that actually go like stink. Doesn't look like much, carries loads of luggage... and rips your face off should you require it to do so.

A Suzuki Fronte coupe

Clicky

Shame the one's imported to the UK came with a 1000cc 4 stroke engine rather than the little 360cc 2 stroke triple.

A Caterham 7. It's tiny, weighs nothing and it has nothing on it that isn't part of going as fast as possible whilst still being road legal.

My RS50: Smart roadster.

Fast for it's size, but you wouldn't want to be seen in it. Thumbs Up

Hi

Bimota Dieci would probably be a DeThomasa Pantera. Italian vehicle with someone elses engine.

Bandit would be a Holden Commodore SS (big and comfy, and then with a tuned engine).

All the best

Keith

I'm thinking my XJ would be a 70's Celica 2000GT. Quite quick for what it is, trying a bit too hard to be American, and getting on a bit but still not as desireable as other similar machines.

CBR929 Fireblade;probably a Supra/RX7/Skyline; Imported sub-superclass category cars which offer excessive performance for the roads but offer decent practicality and a whole host of technical features developed by the japs; a flagship for the company . Like anything super-jap, it's understated and underrated in comparison to italian exotica, but at the same time, it's affordable for the masses.

Ford Sierra 2.8i

Was pretty good at the time, but always overshadowed by its bigger brother, and now its plastic not-so-fantastic.

Trailway (I just sold Sad ) probably something cheapo but will happily go off road. Maybe a Lada Samara.

Hmm it's Japanese though. What about one of those gay suzuki jeeps for menopausal women? I don't know. What do you all think

Probably an early peugeot 206, think its gonna be really crap but actually its ok apart from crap brakes, tyres and build quality.

Yamaha Tenere -> Land Rover Defender.

Fresh out the show room it looks the part, but really could do with some modifications to get the best out of it. Very Happy

My bike has about 410 hp per tonne, so that must mean the car equivalent is a Pagani Zonda F.

One of the reasons I love biking so much!
