Hi all,

Picked up my RSVR last week, so far I have been very impressed with the bike, the build quality is superior to any of the Jap bikes I have owned in the past.

The only problem I have come across so far is one with the Ohlins steering damper. Being the first bike I have owned with an adjustable steering damper I am not sure whether it’s a problem or not? The steering damper has about 1cm of vertical play (up and down movement), I can see the bolt that would require tightening if need be, but unfortunately it is a complete bitch to get to, and I don’t have the correct spanner to do the job unless I take the whole nose cone off. So before I take it down to the local bike mechanics, who would hopefully have a spanner that would do the job I just wanted to check that the steering damper should be secure to the bike, or whether that vertical movement is there for a reason which I don’t think it would be?

Thanks
J

hi

all the dampers ive come across are a good fit .

they have movement ie roll side to side as there on a ball joint.

but it sounds like you need it tightening up if you have 10mm of up & down play.

can you bend a ring spanner so you can get too it Thumbs Up he who dares rodders its all part of the fun Very Happy

good luck Thumbs Up
