Dell mini 9s have a nasty bug in the bios which causes it's install CD to ask for the path for each and every last file as it installs windows, was that the problem you had?

If so, fiddle with the boot order in the bios, I can't remember which way round you need it, but thats the main cause.

I dont have the recovery CD that came with it..
To add to that it doesn't see the USB DVD drive I have.
I used the above link to create a bootable USB drive.
I then had to flash the bios and this involved creating a dos bootable USB drive different from the FAT32 Windows one.
I then discovere the Windows CD was the wrong one as it had been taylourered by DEll for another model. This meant I had to copy some files manually.
I thn got - "...biosinfo.inf could not be loaded. The error code is 14
Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit" and gave up.

I created a Ubuntu USB install and it worked fine. Problem is a job for a freind who wants Windows...

Do you still think its a boot order issue? Any advise?
Thanks in advance.

Hard to say, I could get through the first stage of windows setup with no problems, it was the second stage (Once it reboots into the GUI) where they tend to go pear shaped for me. I've not got one in stock at the moment otherwise I'd upload an ISO, if I remember right, it's pretty typical fare for Dell though, a lightly modified windows CD with all the machine specific drivers on a separate CD.

I'd fiddle with the boot order just to rule it out if nothing else Thumbs Up
