What the fuck?

Ever see sports 125's derestricted? Some of them are quite fast.

Maybe some people are more confident on a 125?

Maybe they're used for commuting?

Maybe it's the most that person can afford?

I can see your point though. Neutral

Okay.

Step 1; Pay for my test.
Step 2; Buy me some gear.
Step 3; Buy me a bike.
Step 4; Pay for my insurance.

But otherwise i'll stick to my 125cc thanks.

Fair enough about the money aspect but your 21 and have road sense (i hope).. Im not so much against the 125's its the idiots that cant ride them, especially the idiots that think that a car hitting you at 30 doesnt hurt! C,mon to a complete novice to riding the CBT doesnt teach you anything! There should be more training and a test even to get L plates i think.

Well, a streetfightered 650 bandit!! You truely have arrived!

And according to your sig, you don't deserve to ride. and you can't do 'the top end of 150mph'. That's pure bullshit.

Doing a test, buying a bike and insurance at 17 is a lot of money to a lot of people.

Maybe you should be thankful for what you have.

I sound like a hypocrit but ive been riding on the tracks since i was 13 and there isnt much i cant do on a bike, obvisously alot of 125cc riders havnt got that experience but its the people on the big bikes that have to take the "bikes are dangerous" argument from everyone cos an L plate rider thinks he can ride around town without any worries of other veichles. This is going a bit of track now lol... but do you really think the CBT is any good, i mean because its non fail even if you crash you still pass. My sisters friend rode into the side of a god damn police car whilst on her CBT and still passed! The goverment needs to focus more on rider training instead of stupid proposals of restricting all supersport bikes!

So all this.......is coming from a Bandit owner???!!?

Did you think you would be different getting a blandit??? Laughing

You also clearly not responsible enough for a 650cc bike at 17 as your going on about wheelies and top ends. Not really the approach of a responsible rider now is it??

Also if your 17 your bike should be restricted so your riding illegaly.

I'd rather ride on the same road as someone whos learning and legal than some tit like you thinking he's the be all and end all because he's done abit of riding.

Listen KID you will look back on that conceited supercillious statement when your older(thats if you make it) and think, what a twat i was.

perhaps they are riding on L's and 125 to get some practice in to take their test?

or one of the many valid points above?

Riding a 125 with insurance and kit would still work out cheaper than getting the bus or driving a cad and for a skint 17yr that can come in mighty handy (or skint 25 yr olds Wink )

NOt all people with 125's are 17! i am 25 though mines a 150 i still have a learner licence and dont ride around like a asshole, so its not right to steroetype, my excuse is i am broke and cant afford the test. so your first statement has pissed me of as i am not a dangerous rider. Its all well and good you have the world of experiance and have the money for fancy bikes and dont seem to give learners a chance. I have been riding for 4 years and am a sensible rider. I am happy with a small bike i dont need to fly down a motorway at a ton as for a start its illegal! As long as my wee bike goes to the speed limit when i am on it i dont care i dont need a big bike!

Its the people with big bikes that drive like arseholes at over 100mph which is illegal that get bikers a bad name.

I think the bloke has a point, like all the "How do I make my 125 faster/fastest 125"but I disagree with the way he says it. Poor guy probably has a small penis and needs to make it feel bigger by waving it about. Laughing

'LOL' as they say.

So, you don't like 125s?
I think it's pretty ridiculous the people that call their bandits 'streetfighters' - did it ever have fairings? No. So it's not a sports bike that's been converted for urban 'street' use.
So basically, you've got a customised commuter, but want to make yourself feel better about it.
The fact that to get 150mph from a naked bandit 650 you would have to spend quite a stupid amount of money makes it even worse - either you're lying, or someone's wasted masses of money on this bike.

Do you think the test is much more useful than the CBT for handling real life situations? Do you think you're ready to handle 150mph on the roads - which are very different to race tracks - because you've done this?

I ride 125, i love it, and im 19. I have passed me test, got about half a year to go before i can ride any cc. But i havent got a bigger bike because i cant afford it. Its not easy for everyone to get a 650 or 400 after passing there test without going into debt.
I plan to get an R6, should be able to get one in january, maybe december.
But i am very much content with my lovely nsr at the moment.

I dont whole agree with you G, I have a bandit with fairing, When I got it I did so not because its a street bike or urban or sports. I got it because its different than my cruiser, I have enjoyed the few rides I have had on it and I am sure when the seat has been modified so I can actually reach the floor I will ride it more often.
My cruiser is to long really for town use. So I got the bandit for every day use. I dont mind whether id goes 200 mph or 100 mph, Its a bike, And I like to ride.

I think you're rather missing the point - my point was that for a bike to be called a 'streetfighter', it should be a sports bike that has been adapted for more aggressive 'street' use - usually with mx bars to make quick turn-in easier and taking the fairings off so there's less to be damaged when you crash.

Taking a bike that isn't a sports bike and adding a different headlight and slightly wider handle bars doesn't really make it a 'streetfighter' in my book.

I had some of my best riding experiences on my RS125. In fact i enjoyed it that much i bought a non runner and brought it back to life.

I currently ride a Bandit 600, while this is a fantastic bike which i love to ride it just doesnt compare to the RS's that ive ridden.
( the smell of £12 a litre oil going up in smoke) plus the powerband that kicks in on the RS is truely awsome.

Its true what "iloveriding" said... it doesnt matter if the machine is capable of 50mph or 200mph. Its "your" bike and if it puts a smile on your face who cares.

Regards

John
