Electrical problem

I am working on a piaggio nrg and the indicators dont have 12v going to them and the battery is not chaging. I have have studied the wiring diagram until my head has exploded and cannot find the fault. I know that the piaggio and gilera 50 2t have a relay inside the regulator and that there is a seperte ac and dc part. Done a test to see if it was the alternator at fault however its within spec, now you might say replace the regulator however took one off a working bike and it did not do nothing, still no charge and indicators. On trying to find leaks in the wiring i did notice that when disconnecting the red/blue wire on the regulator the voltage accross the battery started to charge givng me 13v.

i dont have the diagrams to hand as im no where near my pc,
but how it usually works with...
indicators, is that from the fuse it goes to the relay then to the indicator switch and then to the indicator it self,
now if you arn't getting power to the indicator the first thing to check is that you are getting a continious 12v dc to the relay, if not then check the fuse and do a continuity check from the said fuse to the relay,

if your are getting 12v at the relay then check at the switch for continuity bewteen there and the relay(or the connector that is closest to the switch)
if there is continuity then the next thing is to check the switch itself, from the common wire to each turn wire (at the connector)

if that is ok then i would assume it is the relay that is at fault. as there is bound to be atleast 1 earth still intact... (but you may want to check that as well)

be methodical, start from the beguinning of the circuit and work your way through it untill you find the fault,
chances are there is a corroided wire that looks like its still connected, but with a pull it will break,

good luck, sorry i can't give your more help, but with out the diagram at my fingertips or with out me looking at the bike myself i can't solve the problem for you

Shouldnt it still be getting 13v accross the battery even if the battery is dead?

you will still get 13v across the battery if the battery is dead because this is the charging voltage that is being delivered. A problem will come if the battery does not retain that charge. Stick it on an optimate charger and see what that does with it.
