running costs on the nc30 worry me a bit though, anyone got any ideas on what figures i could be lookin at, major service, minor service, tyres, any other probs!!! it will be restricted to 33hp for 2yrs so i guess that'll help on tyres and fuel consumption? |
You should be able to do most of the maintenance yourself.
The only areas you'll need someone with knowledge on would be valve clearances and timings etc when they need adjusting.
The nc30 engines are very strong , over enginered, so as long as the oil and filter are changed on a regular basis you should not have any problems with the engine.
Get a test ride, make sure the bike idle's ok from a cold start, the idle should settle at around 1.3k. Get the engine nicely warmed up on your run and then check the rev range. Make sure it rev's cleanly all the way to 14.5 - 15k revs with no flat spots.
Ideally get someone who has had one of these bikes to go with you to check it over.
Don't get the NSR you'll regret it and soon be looking to upgrade.
Regards,
Kevo. |
