The company I work for at the moment are looking to move me to another store, we are opening 2 new branches at the above locations so it is likely to be one of those, i've got nothing better going so I don't mind moving Laughing

If I want to have a say in which one I go to I will need to give some sort of indication whithin the next week or so.

So why should or shouldn't I move to your area?

It would be handy if your argument/reson includes important things like nearby decent biking routes, how good the local totty is and what the actual area is like.

For the sake of this thread I will put personal reasons for each place aside i.e. family and friends.

Muchos Gracias

Used to live just outside Nottingham. Did so for about 10 years. Feel I can offer a pretty balanced opinion.

+ Good nightlife. Stealth + Rescue Rooms (2 clubs joined together, about 5 rooms of music) Detonate (best D&B night in the country) Rock City (legendary) as well as lots of good bars.

+ Good shopping. Pisses all over all the other midland cities for decent clothes shops.

+ Double University town so double the associated university totty

+ Plenty of good biking roads close by if you head east into Lincolnshire or south into Leicestershire

+ Best football team in the land (Nottingham forest) play there

+ Trent Bridge - Ashes, England Tests, 2020 (missed that though)

+ Cheap (ish) house prices

- Lots of moody areas where you probably don't want to live

- Lots of tramps / smack heads in town

- Gun Crime

- Notts County also play there

Can't say much for the other place. Never been there. In Kent isn't it? Sounds expensive.

Yup it is in kent.

It won't be expensive compared to what I am paying at the moment i wouldn't worry about that Laughing

Depends how good a nightlife you want. Nottingham wins hands down. So far I haven't had a better night out anywhere else in England.

Shottingham for me represents all the worse points of London, all magnified. I only ever go there for gigs at Rock City and to be honest with you, I feel safer coming home drunk as a mule from central london than I am coming home from Nottingham to Loughborough (same distance of about 15 miles). But if you overlook Nottingham itself, the surrounding area is wicked.

Oh yeah, loads of gash and clunge in Notts. Male to female ratio is approximately 2:1 or 1:1 in some instances, which is why lads from Lufbra uni go over there for some poon tang.

East midlands has a mecca of astonishing biking roads which aren't policed; so there are LOADS of local haunts where we just set time trials on Rolling Eyes.

6 Hills is only down the road and it's a good bike meet.

Donnington is around the corner, so are mallory and rockingham.

But if you're more of a rural lad and value your peace, Kent is lush.

Tunbridge Wells is a bit quiet.

Lots of yummy mummys about, in Tunbridge and surrounding areas. I saw one woman in high heels, tight jeans and a bright pink boob tube (fake ones) picking her kids up from school. It's quite an affluent area, ie expensive. In summary, lots of posh totty.

Good thing about T.Wells is easy access to London and south coast. Maidstone and Ashford are nearby. Dover takes 30 mins. London is about 30-40 mins and there's everything you could need in T.Wells.

If you want a young persons nightlife on your doorstep then Nottingham, though it looked like a fucking dive last time I went there, and I live in a rough-ish area of SE-London. If you want a mroe peaceful lifestyle with bars etc to visit and to go out partying every now and again because it's a bit of a trek then T.Wells.

Edit: Where do you live atm?

Mate of mine at uni (Nottingham) came from Tumbridge Wells, he only went home for a couple of weeks over the summer and tried to stay in Notts as much as possible Smile

Can say anything personally about TW, but I spent 5 years in Nottingham as a student and then working and really liked it

Whenever I've visited my dad in Tun Wells on a weekend evening it's been jammed full of crumpet. Can't see a better reason than that Smile

Nottingham is renowned for having the prettiest girls in England, this is because of the chief industry of the town ( historically at least), lace making. The work required nimble fingers and sharp eyes so a lot of young girls moved into the area to work in the mills.
Tunbridge Wells is renowned for battle axe tory women with formidable chests and dog hair on thier tweeds.
Your choice.

I live a few miles from Tunbridge Wells.

Nightlife wise, don't get excited. There are two clubs, if you can call them both that. One is tiny and awful, if it's stil going. The other is still quite small, and OK.
Lots of pubs and some bars.
A large amount of poon of various ages, you shouldn't struggle too much there.
Still takes a while into London on the train - 45mins+ off the top of my head.
Lots of shops in the shopping centre and surrounding bit.

Riding wise, the A264 between T. Wells and East Grinstead is good fun, as is the road down towards the coast. Lots of fun little bits around there, although if you want to learn kentish backlane riding you'll have to get good at carrying speed around blind corners. Hurts when you fuck up.

Tonbridge is just down the road. It's nastier and cheaper than T. Wells, but should give you significantly cheaper rent or mortgage for the same quality and a short commute. Sevenoaks is in between them, it's a dull expensive town full of cunts.

I live in Essex at the moment, on the outskirts of london, my nearest town is Romford which has a pretty decent night life Thumbs Up

The plan untill recently was to go to nottingham, i have friends in loughborough so that would be the social side sorted, obviously moving that far means i would loose contact with most of my friends in this area pretty quickly.

The Tunbridge wells shop is a recent plan but both stores will be opening around the same time which is why i have the choice, I will be involved in setting up the Tunbridge shop so i guess i will see what the area is like then although it will be a little late to choose by then, it is alot nearer to home but i dont know anybody really around that area and it is still 45 minutes from home.

Riding wise in the SE there is the winnahs Cool and also three of my friends here look to be getting bikes in the near future. I dont know anybody who rides up north (with the exception of the_godfather off 'ere) Do BCF north have regular rides?

Im not too worried if the shop does go bust tbh, i know the company management well enough that they would find me a position else where Thumbs Up

The third option is that i find something elsewhere nearby and stay here in romford Thumbs Up
