Well I've found a spankingly sweet thundercat round the corner from here which I'm contemplating buying... the only problem is that I am on a restricted licence still. I went down the FI International route for my bandit (what a rip off that was) but don't really want to be paying their insane prices again for 4 poxy washers.

Anyway does anyone here have the washer dimensions used to restrict a '98 thundercat so I could get some fabricated myself rather than buying off the rip-off merchants that are FI International.

There's nothing in the law that says you require a certificate, so if you're going to do that you may as well just make your own certificate, or just ride around unrestricted with no certificate and keep the speed down.....

The certificates mean diddly squat and my insurance company haven't asked for any certificate as proof anyway so it would be a pointless venture for me. I could ride it without restriction but we get a lot of police around here so really it would be ideal to restrict it even if I don't ever get pulled. I don't ride about like a loon or attract attention to myself but I can't afford to be pulled and done for riding outside my licence restrictions.

Bet it's pretty rare to find a restricted Thundercat compared to a Bandit so you'll be lucky to find the measurements you need.
For example the Bandit washers are 38mm diameter to fit in the rubbers and have a 16ish mm hole in them with the hole centre 13mm from the edge to offset them. If you know what you're doing you could measure your rubbers internal diameter to make the washers then try a 15-16mm hole as a baseline. Only trouble is it you would need a simple dyno power run to check them, usually £10-£15 which is fair enough if they are spot on first time but not if you've got to keep doing it as you tinker with the right hole size.
I made some for a Bandit in alloy once
