That was 2 hours for the whole thing mate
Make sure you have decent i.e sharp drill bit. And drill small pilot holes first. I used a 2mm drill bit then 5mm then 8mm then 10mm.
A 500w drill should deal with it no probs, I used a battery drill ____________________ Past >>>> Honda NSR 125 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K1 >>>> Suzuki GSXR 600 K4 >>>>Kawasaki Z1000 DAF >>>>Suzuki RMZ 250 >>>> Current >>>> KTM Superduke R 1290 >>>> |

Bloody hell
And I'm pretty sure the whirring is nothing to do with the powerband or powervalves. Anyone who has a fairly recent NSR, look underneath the tank and you should see a shiny silver circular thing. With, what looks like, two pieces of wire wrapped around it. This is what I am referring to.
Cheers

This is the servo for the powervalve*, check to see there's nothing blocking it.
For the exhaust, ideally you want a faster drill, but more important is decent drills in small sizes. You will need a few 2 or 3mm ones, because tehy will blunten and brake.
Crappy drills often become blunt before you've finished the first hole. You need small ones to make accurate holes, then a bigger one to drill it out.
at the powerbands... talk to bend that does a good line in replacement ones |

Ok, apology accepted
When you took the airbox and stuff off to get to the carb did you interfere with the powervalve in any way? I did this but I only took the powervalve off when I dropped the engine out, and when I put everything back together I didn't assemble the powervalve correctly. I put something in the wrong way and the powervalve wasn't opening properly.
I am suggesting this because when people say my bike's restricted, and it's a 2 stroke, a lot of people may think it's a powervalve restriction, so if anyone at all has fiddled with it (even before you had it) it might be that. ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything! |
