 |
|
Hi, today i was out riding and the bike just didnt feel right, i knew something was wrong because it didnt start as it normally does, it was very hesitant.
But i thought nothing of it and went out anyway, only find that when accelerating it feels, again, quite hesitant. Idling it feels as though it wants to cut out but doesnt quite, the power seems to have dropped too. Low speed is jerky and stuttery.
My first thought was that maybe i need to go onto reserve but no, i pulled over and tried reserve but still the same. Filled up with petrol on the way back to find that it took a few seconds more to start as opposed to instantly, like it usually does, and then just saved itself from cutting out when i put it in gear.
Any ideas of things to check? Ant
(Worth noting: The bike (Superdream) has recently had its carbs balanced and a top end rebuild last month.) ____________________ 1980 Suzuki TS50 ~ 1984 Honda CB400N ~ 1992 Triumph Trident ~ 1998 Suzuki Bandit 1200 |

my money would be on a shagged sparkplug, so have a look before you go silly and tear the engine apart.

Just because they are new, it doesn't mean that they're correctly gapped. Incorrect gapping can result in weak spark (too long) rapid electrode wear (too short) or problems like you are describing.
